Default carbs= depression??

I ate pizza last night (bad, but oh well. back on track now.)
The thing is, i feel really depressed today! The bad, bottom of the gut kind of depression that feels quite physical.
I include carby meals every once in a while, and haven't experienced this before.
Does anyone think too much of the wrong kind of carbohydrate can cause an immediate emotional response like this?

If i eat white flour or sugary things other than fruit, I spiral down into deep deppression for often up to a week after.

Yes, it can happen. How much pizza did you eat? One slice or perhaps a bit more? Pizza is incredibly high in sugar and one of the tougher foods for your body to metabolize. That kind of spike can indeed cause you to crash -- although part of your depression is likely guilt because you felt you were doing really well. Kick up the B vitamins, and that should help!

Drink plenty of H2O, cut yourself some slack and remember this the next time around. You sure don't want to feel like this again!

Sometimes after a high carb meal I will feel very bloated the next day and tired, no energy to do anything. And than I usually also feel very guilty and come down hard on myself.

Chin up today is a new day. You will feel better as the day goes on.

Good luck
