golden flax vs. brown flax

hi all. i was wondering what the difference is between the two, and if they both will have the same effects. i found some brown flax at my grocery store in the baking isle? would this be ok to use?? rather cheap. its made by badia (they make spices and such). only like .39 cents for the bag. not a huge bag.
