Default Plz answer

i want 2 get some sausages, but am having trouble finding some which are low in carbs. i'm in the uk.

i've come across these organic sausages, these are the ingredients
PORK ( 95%), SALT, BREADCRUMB (WHEATFLOUR, YEAST, SEA SALT, PALM OIL, FLOUR TREATMENT AGENT: ASCORBIC ACID*); WATER*, POTATO STARCH, WHITE PEPPER, ONION POWDER, SAGE, NUTMEG ,CORIANDER, PARSLEY, ANTIOXIDANT: ASCORBIC ACID*. MADE WITH 95% ORGANIC MEAT FILLED INTO NATURAL PORK CASINGS*. (*PERMITTEDNON-ORGANIC INGREDIENTS)

this is the nutritional values for 100g
Protein 18.50g
Available Carbohydrate 0.90g
of which - Sugars 0.70g
of which - Starch 0.20g
Fibre 1.10g

do you think that these would be ok?

thanks xxx

Default Just my opinion...

But, those ingredients look like everything Atkin's says to stay away from ...flour, starch, sugar, etc. It may be one of the YMMV items, so you could eat them and see if they have any effect. Good luck!

Default UK sausages

Those sausages are fine. It looks to be one of the lowest carb sausages you can buy. Where did you find them?

The general sausages in UK supermarkets are high in rusk and other fillers and are nowhere near 95% meat.

The lowest carb sausages are in the Tesco Finest range. But look on the packet they do vary. They are still 2/3 carbs a sausage. Depends what is added in with the sausage.

Be careful with the beefburgers they are also seasoned with some carb fillers. Look for the 100% beef variety. Dalepak are good.

So those sausages are fine. Just add them into your carb count

Hello , You can go to a butcher shop or a meat place and have them make you soem sausage with out all the nitrates and other garbage.... or make your own.. I have a local meat shop make sausage for me. Ground pork, sage, red peppers, black pepper and salt... It taste great.. even the kids like it better than the store bought sausage.. And best of all no carbs...
