Default Newbie w/ carb counting q's

I just read the Schwarzbein book and I'm confused about how to allot carbs.
I saw the chart she has with the activity levels and all, but is that for the healing or maintenance portion of the program? I'm moderately active and want to lose 5-8 pounds, in addition to healing my metabolism. What should
I be looking at in terms of a daily allowance of carbs? Thanks and I hope I did this right!

Those are the healing levels...so if you are sedentary it is 15g per meal and 7 or so grams per snack.

Maintenance is a bit fuzzy with her plan...I'm hoping for some clarification in the new book due in October.
