Default sugar n headaches

got two questions here,

1. Sugar. So we know we should avoid sugar alltogether, but it is put in so many things. Like this sliced cheese I love has less than a gram of sugar in it. I usually put that over my 1 carb hotdog and go to town. So how do I count that? Like what if it has 1 carb and 1 gram of sugar, whats the ratio to ad that into my car count or does that mean a total fubar? Its kinda the thing with whipcream too. Canned whip cream 1 carb and 1 gram of sugar. Now HOW horrible is that to add to say sugar free jello? lol see where im coming from? Even my favorite spice I use, has a little sugar in it, cant tast it but its in the ingredients.. again when is it okay or is it?

2. Headaches. I just started getting headaches 2 days ago. Asprin gets rid of it, but wondering if anyone has had that problem ?

Hi reubensito,

Yes, it's annoying how they put sugar in nearly everything. If things are less than a gram or one gram per 100 grams I wouldn't worry about it. Just count it as 1 gram in your daily allowance if you eat a lot of it.

A lot of people get headaches at the beginning of this diet. I have a theory it may be due to dehydration (like a hangover) - you tend to lose water from your body with this way of eating. Make sure you drink lots of water and take aspirin only if it doesn't go away. If it is because your body isn't used to the diet yet,the problem will go away in time.

Good luck,
Robert

I am a migraine sufferer and have noticed lately I only get headaches after to much caffeine or not enough water. We are suppose to be caffeine free I know, but occasionally I will have a diet coke with caffeine if we are out for dinner somewhere and it will cause a migraine if I drink to much of it.

Track your headaches and see if maybe there is a trigger food or ingredient that you can begin to monitor, or maybe a lack of a food, such as not enough water for the day.

Good Luck!

I had headaches for the first 5 days. I think it is your body going through withdrawl of sugar. Just like people get caffine headaches. Now, if I cheat and eat something I shouldn't I pay for it for about 3 days. Feels just like a hangover without the good memories from the night before
