Question Carbs in Ramen broth

This may be a weird question.

I LOVE Chicken Ramen, but I know I can't have the noodles. That's fine, but I was wondering if anyone knew the carbs in just the little seasoning packet that comes with Ramen (IMO it's the tastiest part anyway).

I'm not sure but a good guess is there is a ton of salt and sugar! Thats why kids love those empty little phoney foods, LOL

You might be better off making your own chicken broth. Like Kathy54 said, I'm sure the Ramen contains lots of sodium and all kinds of weird preservatives that can't be good for you.

Ramen has a LOT of sodium. Read the package it's like 900.

900 ? Try ALOT higher...There's 1433.6mg of Sodium in 1 cup of Ramen. There's also 38.6g of Carbs, but that includes the Noodles. Noodles probably wouldn't account for more than 20g of that, so the rest is probably still in there, even if you don't eat the noodles. To top it all off, Ramen Noodle Soup only has 1-2 Vitamins, which is odd considering Chicken has 13...

The broth packet is pure sodium - - boullion - - but low-carb. Just remember that if you drink it you will probably retain water the next day so you MUST drink more water than normal after consuming this high-sodium food.

I too love the broth from the powder packet, but nowadays I'd stay from that like grim death -- I'm so much more sensitive to salt now -- just a little of it makes me blow up like a watermelon Unfortunately, the powder has lots of salt in it, and maye MSG too.

Okay, okay. I didn't actually have any. I was just having a big salt craving and it sounded so yummy. I had some peanuts instead (lightly salted). I guess I was more curious than anything.

Thanks for all the responses, though!

Default add ins?

You could try making (or using low sodium canned) broth & adding a splash of soy & a drop of sesame oil- it gives the oriental flavor you might be craving? Also adding chopped bok choy or shrimp or something might work as well?
