Default New Years

A friend asked me to order an Atkins Diet Diary for her (I got one last year; don't use it much, but it's nice ) and it hit me. For the first time in years, my New Year's Resolution isn't "Start a diet January 1."

Actually, I don't have any New Year's Resolutions, and don't plan on making any. Instead, I have a long term goal list and am working my way down it (very slowly )

It's very freeing. "Starting again" on January 1 was another way of saying "Failed again, have to get back to it." I haven't failed this time. (almost added the "yet")

There probably will be a lot of people who start a diet on Jan 1. If they are lucky, they will discover LC, and this site. If they are even luckier they will discover that LC is a way of life not a diet. Can hardly wait to see how many new folks show up early in the new year.

hehe Alto I am right there with you. Last year's goal was to quit smoking. That has been checked off. This year was to quit drinking and to "try" and lose some pounds. More check marks for me!

So far I have lost almost 40 pounds instead of "some". Like you, I am looking forward to the New Year and not making that resolution that says, start a new diet.

Hrm, maybe my New Year's resolution this year is to wear my bikini to the beach!

Cheers!

Lightbulb What are your goals for 2002?

Well, January 2002 will soon be here, and I'm sure we will all have goals that we would like to acheive.

Right now I am walking a fast pace 40 minutes on the treadmill each day, however for January, or the year 2002, I want to add weights to my exercise program every other day to build up lean muscle and my metabolism. Right now, I’m lifting 5 and 10lb hand held dumbbells, but I want to join a gym and use the weight machines there. Also aerobic swimming is in my target too. And my number one goal for 2002 is to get a complete physical from my doctor and to focus on my health rather than a quick weight loss.

Look into your crystal ball and share what your January will look like too!
