Unhappy Tired and headache all the time

I have been on Atkin's for the last 5 days. I have not noticed any wieght loss.
But from day 2, I have been very tired. My muscles in my body hurt like when I am having a fever. It has just started to disappear.
I have been having headaches from day 2. I am a caffine addict. I am unable to cut my caffine intake from 1 can diet coke a day. I have cut down signifficantly, but cannot cut off totally. Will this cause too much problem? Still having caffine?
I have only been eating beef, chicken, salads w/o dressing, eggs, 1 diet coke, green tea, and water. I have not eaten any cheese.
I have not taken any vitamines.
Is there more that I should be doing? I will be going on an extended business trip in 2 weeks and am concerned of eating out. Are there any advice when you are forced to eat out daily? I noticed that EVERYTHING has sugar.

Your body is just detoxifying..hence the real "yucky" feeling. It will get better soon. Drink lots of water and U should be taking a good multi-vitamin, calcium magnesium and pottasium. As for eating out. U can order steaks and salads, burger without the bun, there are usually lots U can have, watch out for sauces tho. Also if U are staying in a hotel...U should have a little fridge in your room to store some extra food.

salads w/o dressing,

Where are your vegetables? Why no dressing? You should absolutely start off induction with 20 grams of low-carb vegetables. It helps this way of eating become just that - a way of eating!

Depriving yourself of fat and flavour and variety will turn into drudgery and something to be loathed instead of something to be enjoyed.

Karen,

I know I'm going to sound like a total total idiot here, but have I been misunderstanding the Atkins book all this time? I understood that the 20 carbs includes EVERYTHING, even eggs and cheese. Do we not have to count the carbs in things like eggs and cheese?

Sorry for the confusion - I just know my sister is doing a different LC and on her WOE the carbs in those foods aren't counted.
