Xanax causes central nervous system depression and a general slowing down of metabolism so theoretically it could cause a bit of a slowdown in weight loss. The adverse reactions listed for Xanax include either weight loss or weight gain....and either increase in appetite or decrease in appetite. Abruptly stopping xanax can cause serious withdrawal symptoms, so don't consider this without talking to your doctor about it. I don't think it would effect ketosis in any direct way.
