Default Does being in Ketosis mean you should be losing?

Does being in Ketosis mean you should always be losing weight/fat?

Also, if you have done LC before, is it always harder the next time you do it? If so, how does it work to "just go back to induction" every time you gain 5 lbs?

Thanks for the input!

Katie

Hi Katie,

Being in ketosis means you're burning fat - either the fat you eat or your body fat or (we hope) both.

It does get harder the more times you do it - but if you are naughty what else can you do but go back to induction to clear out your system and try again.

Atkins has laid it all out for his followers but because humans are notorious for following their desires over what they know is right, they seem to always end up back where they started.

Two of the most brilliant pieces in DANDR are these two sets of rules.

The uses and Abuses of Induction

The Wrong Way to do Atkins

When you are burning your own fat, you can feel it. Usually you feel a bit warmer, you have an odd taste in your mouth and urination is frequent. That's the best measure of ketosis. If you're using Ketostix as the only indication, don't let them fool you.

HTH,

Karen

Thanks Karen and others for the reply. You know what is interesting? I experience the frequent potty breaks but I haven't really notice the "Ketone breath" Maybe my breath just stinks on a regular basis.
