Default Diet Mountain Dew on Atkins

Has anyone had success with Diet Dew on Atkins? I know that nutra-sweet and caffeine are no-nos but I LOVE the drink. Even though there is zero carbs will it hurt? I dont want to lose ketosis due to dew. ;-)

I did fine on induction without giving up Aspartame or caffeine. I wouldn't get too carried away, but not everyone has trouble with it. My vote is enjoy! If it causes a stall (which, IMO, it won't) you can cut it out.

My favorite diet soda is Diet Mt. Dew. Has been for many years. I had a one month stall so I was forced to eliminate the 2 cans of Diet Dew a day to see if it was the problem. The scale started to move the week after I stopped drinking it. Now I'm afraid to try drinking it again!

Man, I was just looking at the diet dew yesterday. I love mtn. dew, but I am completely caffiene free and I don't think I could add it back in... I was bummed briefly though when I decided to pass it up...

I always drank the caffiene free Mt. Dew so I think it must have been the aspartame.

one or two a day as early as possible won't hurt, but remember if you want to lose the most weight the quickest then don't drink it.

Default hidden carb warning

Unlike most diet drinks, Diet Mountain Dew is NOT carb-free, because it's made with orange juice. Yes, the label says 0g carbs, but this is a case of the manufacturer rounding down to 0. An 8 oz serving (1.5 servings per can) contains right at 0.5g, so a can has almost 1g! This can add up if you're drinking a lot of them. See http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/faq.html#33 for more info on this.

I'm not going to tell you not to drink diet sodas -- I've had a Diet Coke addiction for years now -- but Diet Mountain Dew (and all of the knockoff versions) is probably not a good choice, and you might think about finding another variety of soda. Diet Rite white grape might be one to try.
