Question Problems with Atkins candy?

I've been LC'ing it for 4 months now, and I've just started to allow myself to have LC candy every once in a while. Well, I had the Atkins Caramel Nut Chew, and the next morning I was in stomach agony. Last night I had a peanut butter cup -- only 1 of the 3 that it comes with -- and again the same thing.

Am I the only one that can't eat these thing without problems? I don't know what's going on, but I'm sort of disappointed, because I don't usually treat myself. Guess I'll have to find something else. Sorry to be gross, but I'm really curious to find out if I'm the only one that has had this reaction.

You are NOT the only one. It is a common problem. The sugar alcohols not only cause stomach distress in a large number of people, they also often cause stalls in the weight loss. It's good that you discovered this early.

Do you know if Splenda bothers you? If not, there are some treats made only with Splenda. However, if you're still on Induction, most of the "old-timers" here suggest avoiding all sweets on Induction. I didn't and still lost weight, but then I made a lot of mistakes on Induction.

Thanks! I was disappointed that I couldn't have any candy. I'm on a quasi-Induction menu -- I stay under 20 g, but have added nuts, etc. I'll have to look for the Splenda candy, because that doesn't bother me. Even though I don't plan to have it every day, I'd just like to know the option was there if I'm really in the mood.

Anyone have suggestions on brand names or places to find it?

Go down to the recipe section and you may find some treats that you can make yourself with Splenda & other sweeteners that will not upset the tum.
