Question artichoke quarters

I picked up a frozen package of artichoke quarters and the nutritional information for 1 cup is 4 carbs 5 fiber, this would make this produce a negative for carbs,
has anyone else used them? I put them in my eggs, quicke and just fried with some bacon and I am still able to stay in ketosis with it.

Doesn't make sense to me since fiber is a carbohydrate......?? Hmmm? I love artichokes and will have to look for them. I love spinach/artichoke dip and now that they have tortitos edge, I need to make myself some! yum!

There is no such thing as a negative carb. Probably the manufacturer already subtracted fiber from the carb count it listed — a more accurate label might say 9 grams carbs, 5 grams fiber for a total of 4 net carbs.

According to the Atkins Carb Counter, 1 whole artichoke has 13.4 carbs and 6.5 fiber. 1 marinated artichoke heart has 1 gram carbs and 0 fiber. http://atkins.com/global/carb-count...?cat=condiments

I should add that I have eaten artichoke hearts before (never brave enough to try the whole thing) and haven't had any problems. They're legal, just not a "negative carb food" as that label would indicate.

i got a bag of pork rinds one time that had "negative" net carbs too. i meant to ask about it, but totally forgot about it until u mentioned it. i wonder why that is when there is more fiber than carbs on the label.
