I'm assuming that you are talking about "carb up" in relation to weight lifting. Is that correct? If not, perhaps you could give more detail about what exactly you are asking.

Some trainers recommend eating a lot of carbs before weight lifting, though many others assure us that it is not necessary.

i'm not sure
i've seen somebody said they would do a few days of carb up after doing meat fast or fat fast
i assume they meant they'd increase the carb intake for a few days
but i'm not sure why they do that? how they do that?

It's used in breaking long stalls....I mean long ones not 4 weeks of not losing.

Some programs recommend a meat or fat fast followed by "carbing up" then going back to induction type levels. This "shocks" the body into burning fat again.

Sometimes it helps, other times it doesn't

The phrase is also used in descriptions of CKD. You might want to look at the thread CKD 101 at the top of the CKD subforum.
