Atkins and Cancer
I sent an e-mail to the Atkins Centre but never got a response - I know some of you may have an opinion on this.
My mother has breast cancer which metastized to her liver (she's doing well, only has to have 3 month checks). She gained a lot of weight during her chemo and is desperate to get the weight off, however, she has to have liver ultrasounds and sometimes the fat can be mistaken for cancer cells apparently. My question is, do you think she should be doing Atkins with all the high fat and protein - we don't want to have anything show up that shouldn't be there and the liver is known for collecting fat.
Thanks - hopefully someone has some insight on this point.
Vikki
PS: Her oncologist is 100% again low carbing - so there's not an option there
