Default homemade shake recipes?

Any good (tasty)homemade LC shake recipes out there? I'd like one that I could start my morning with as breakfast has always been my worst meal. I'm sick of the 'meat & eggs' routine and most other foods just don't appeal to me in the morning. The ready made shakes were ok now and then but I was hoping some of you pros might have a tastier alternative. Thanks for any help here.

I would be really interested to hear any "home-made!" shake ideas too... the powdered whey protein ones make me gag... literally. uughh. I can't even write about them. (I am not a drama queen... really.)

Hey Doodle....I saw your name and had to come check it out!!

Have you only tried one kind of whey protein shake? There can be quite a difference in taste from brand to brand and flavor to flavor (chocolate vs. vanilla, etc.). You can also add berries/cream etc.... but you already know that, I'm sure.

But I know what you mean about gagging....that's what I do on the soy shakes (like Atkins). I absolutely cannot do them. YECH!!!

I use the designer whey from GNC --chocolate is good, very low carb. I use 3 oz of whipping cream and 3 oz water and 2 TB davinci sugar free chocolate syrup. Blend it up and I think it is very good.

Also the vanilla you can add fruit. I made one with blueberries and it was divine -- raspberries was good too, but I didn't blend the seeds away.

I think the thing is to get a flavored instead of just the plain. I saw butter pecan (I think) the other day. If you use just water I mix mine then put it in the freezer while I get ready for work and take it out and it is very frosty and thicker.

From talking to people at GNC and other health centers the designer whey is one of the better tasting ones.

Hi TeriDoodle... thanks for the tips, but yep... I have tried sooooo many shakes, well the ones i can get in Ireland anyway. I have be LC'ing and on this board since september, but have been less active here from about January, I don't really know why, I guess I just got lazy. However, I have noticed since I stopped posting (although I read as many threads as i can every day) I have not been as motivated as I was initially, so I hope to become a very active member again. Funny about our names... I am actually called doodle in every day life, always have been, so for me it's not a screen name! ridiculous I know, but hey, it's me.
Hope to get to know everyone all over again...
Doods.
