Default President's Choice Easy Carve Turkey?

I'm hoping someone out there has some experience with the Easy Carve Turkey put out by President's Choice and can give me some feedback. Is it any good? Any info will be much appreciated!

Default easy carve turkey

I haven't tried it personally, but a friend of mine did. She was not impressed.

I am not familiar with this product. However similar turkeys from some other brands contain hydrogenated oils, so I personally avoid them. I hope thats not the case with this one though...but its worth it to read the label.

I had it last year, or the year before (I can't remember) upon my visiting mothers insistence. I usually eat non traditional dishes (i.e. lobster) for Christmas as I am the rebelious one (I did do LC many years ago). It was not memorable; I think I gave the left overs away. I would rather pay the extra $ to get a high quality fresh free range turkey at the farmers market.

I believe you cook it frozen.

From the presidentschoice.ca website .. it looks like the cranberry stuffing has "soybean oil shortening" in it, and the turkey meat has sugar in its seasoning.

Ingredients:Turkey, water, stuffing [toasted wheat crumbs (corn meal, milk ingredients), sweetened dyhydrated cranberries, soybean oil shortening, dehydrated white and green onions, flavour, dehydrated parsely, citric acid, malic acid], salt, sugar, sodium phosphate, flavour, spice, soy lecithin. Gravy: Turkey broth, enriched wheat flour, cooked turkey meat, turkey fat, modified corn starch, salt, cultured whey powder, sugar, spices, onion powder, garlic powder, turkey flavour, caramel colour.

*grumble grumble* LOL okay, okay - I admit it, I was looking for an "easy out" for Christmas Day. I don't know why roasting turkey feels so daunting to me, but I suspect the fact that my mother will be there for dinner has something to do with it...
