Default 10 lbs to lose...

When I started out, I had 27 pounds to lose. As of today (and 10 weeks on WW) I only have 10 pounds left to lose. I was successful on Weight Watchers with losing the weight, but felt MUCH better on Atkins. I would like to switch back over to Atkins. I am a HORRIBLE carb addict and struggle terribly when "allowed" to eat them (like on WW). My question is...Do I need to do induction? Or can I just skip to the next stage?

If it were up to me I would start on induction, however, with so little weight to lose you may want to start by just decreasing your carbs.

Ordinarily, with just a few pounds to lose, you might be able to skip Induction. Since you describe yourself as a carb addict, though, I think doing a perfectly clean two-week Induction would be great for you. It'll help break those cravings and addictions, and since you're not too heavy to begin with, you likely will only lose a few pounds anyway.

I'd agree with what is said above. Although Atkins says with 10lbs to lose start at 60g of carb, if you struggle with cravings a clean induction should help.

You say you have difficulty when 'allowed' carbs. This could mean that you struggle with OWL and maintence where you can have more carbs. A suggestion: why not set yourself rules? So instead of having 40g of carb to 'spend', every day your 'allowed' vegies and one piece of fruit, and when you have 50g you are alowed one piece of fruit and one piece of bread etc. The existance of clear rules could help you have a more disciplined approach. ANd rememer, if you are a true carb adict keep that induction clean, and even if you lose all your 10lb then take OWL very very slow.

Thanks everyone! I agree with starting a clean induction. Also, I love the idea of allowing myself a piece of fruit and my veggis instead of 40 grams of carbs/day.
