Question what's the deal with yogurt?

Hi everyone!

I've just finished my first week of induction (whew, only one more to go :yay I was wondering about full fat yogurt. I love the stuff and in Germany plain, 3.7 percent fat yogurt is common and yummy and the carbs are low. Since yogurt specifically isn't mentioned in the induction section of the book I was wondering about it.

Thanks for your help!

It's not on the list because it is not an Induction food where dairy and carbs are limited.

Please use the green "Search" button above to look for the many threads that are on the board about yogurt.

There has been some discussion about exactly how many carbs are in yogurt. You might also check out fitday.com to see how many carbs are in various kinds.

You are close enough to your goal to be eating Pre-Maintenance levels where yogurt may be acceptable. You'll just have to try it and see how you do.

Dannon, now makes a carb control yogurt. It is available in quite a few different flavors and has around 3 carbs per container. It's not good for induction, but it's worth it in later phases.

You might like to try full fat sour cream. It's much much higher in fats than yoghurt and lower in carbs too. I eat it with a little sweetener or I put it on salad or fried cauliflower. (Maybe you should get induction over with first though).

If you live in Germany, why not add this fact to your profile. It will stop people telling you what you can get in American shops all the time and will enable us to give you advice which may be more suited to where you live or Europe in general.
