Question 5:00 Wall?

I have been on Atkins since May 6, 2003. Everyday I hit a wall at 5:00.
I have no energy and all I can do is crash until it passes.

I am completely drained and feel very tired. I always can tell when it is 5:00 without looking at the clock simply by the way I feel.

Someone suggested a protein snack. Any suggestions on what kind of snack or what may be causing it?

Thanks,

Randy

Hi Randy,

That must be so frustrating to crash!

Could you give us some ideas of your daily menus (including when you're eating the foods) so we can give some suggestions?

Sounds like you need to eat something at about 4...a good healthy snack or some sort...maybe some cheese and celery...or just some cheese...
Try it and see what happens...but it seems it may be a low blood sugar thing...

That also happened to me in the first few weeks. I started having a small snack of about 7 or 8 macadamia nuts in the late afternoon and that has helped me.

Oregano,

I usually have oat meal for breakfast and one cup of coffee and sometimes bacon and eggs.

I eat lunch around noon and usually make a tuna or chicken salad with water.

Dinner is usually around 6:00 and I have chicken pattys, or beef fajitas, or roast, with carrots, or turnip greens, or a salad.

My treat for the day is strawberrys with frozen cool whip after dinner.

I may snack during the day on pork rinds with cheese.

Well, what do you think?

Randy

You are pretty close to your goal, so a nice dish of cottage cheese and berries, would be a great snack. My job entials a lot of heavy lifting, and Cottage cheese and blueberries or strawberries, is my standard morning snack, it helps me through til lunch. So give it a try about 4 pm if you can.
Cheers Kathy
