Cool Past week of inductin has felt like a month

Hi everyone... I'm new but have reading the posts in this forum for the past week. Reading everyone's struggles and successes has REALLY helped!

I started induction Feb 1 and have lost 10 pounds! I don't FEEL like i've lost that much, but the scales don't lie (before now, I just avoided the scales like the plague so I guess they haven't lied to me yet?)

I just read all the "newbie mistakes" in another thread and had to laugh because I've already tried almost all of them! SHEESH!

I'm working on making myself excercise.... I HATE doing excercise videos and walking on the boring treadmill. I much prefer being outdoors but it has been FREEZING here in snowy ole' Michigan.

Anyway.... I"m glad to be here and looking forward to continued success (I'm so afraid of the dreaded "plateau"! )

I found newbie mistakes on the email I got from this forum that lists the most read threads. Try this link... I hope it works:

Dumb question.... what do you mean by "many introduction phases"? I'm just catching on to this lingo...

Thanks

It sounds like U are doing well. Remember with exercise that especially at 1st it doesnt take a lot to make a difference. Try to find something U will enjoy like maybe water fitness classes? I know about being too cold to walk outside being from Canada..lol

I'm so glad to here that you are doing so well so far.

Don't be surprised - and especially don't get discouraged - if you don't lose any weight for the next week or two or even gain a few pounds. It's perfectly normal for many, many people. It just has to do with your body adjusting its water retention cues to your new diet which takes a while.

Most of that ten pounds is water and your body almost certainly overdid it and dumped too much. It will start reclaiming some of it. You will still be losing fat during this entire process, but you may well reclaim more weight than you shed in fat.

Prepare yourself and don't get discouraged. The methods work for the VAST majority of people if you have faith and stay the course.

What I meant when I said many introduction phases is that i start the introduction then I slip up, so I make myself start the Introduction all over again. Another thing, there are no "dumb" questions, only one's not asked. We all need info some time or another. Keep up the good work and I'll let you know how i'm doing on my 14th day.

BRRRRRR! Canada! If I took a water class, I'd probably be too lazy to dry my hair.... then I'd go outside and my hair would freeze and break off ( hey... I wonder how much your hair weighs... just kidding!)

Seriously, I have been thinking about lap swim at the local pool... but that would mean I would actually have to get up super early and DO IT! yikes I know I'd like it once i started...

THank you very much for the encouragement! SInce i'm new, I have to admit that I got really jazzed when I got replies! haha! SHHHHH dont tell...how embarrassing haha
