This is usually the case for big guys, as your metabolism increases generally with lean body mass. I drop into the dark zone in less than 2 days usually.
Good for you, just be careful not to over do it. Some dieters focus on eating less (either calories or carbs) and skip meals, and this usually works against them as it slows metabolism in the long run.
