I have been LC for a year & 1/2. Slow, but I have not kept food journal & counted carbs. I just wanted a lifestyle I can easily live with so I did Atkins. (I guess it have been my own version!) Anyway, on a whim, I went in to a WW meeting and joined. It has been two days. I needed the portion control!! I have eaten good healthy foods that I have not had for over a year. Apples, baby carrots, yogurt. I did the fitday and it showed equal amounts of protein, carbs & fats. I ran 3.5 miles this morning and felt better than ever! I will see what happens! I had sworn to myself I would never go back, but I did. I really think if I stay away from sweets & white flour products & eat healthy I can begin to lose again. Any thoughts? Do you all think I am some kind of trader?

That would be rather harsh if we did! This isn't a society that one is sworn into to! You have to do what is right and works for you.

When I get to goal, I do look forward to re-introducing more veggies & fruit for sure, but not having white flour, white rice, sweets and for sure never-ever hydrogenated oils (not an LC thang the oils, but they are just scary).

At least you have learned about the refined products and will take away some LC principles with you on your WW journey. Who knows ... .maybe you'll come back to LC with portion control!

Good luck with it.

All the best,
Z.

Traitor? No, but there's no reason why you couldn't have been eating apples, carrots and yogurt on Atkins.

Good luck... just don't fall for their irrational fat-phobia.

You are right, Atkins does allow for those healthy foods. I just never got to those phases, and I guess doing it on my own has been a bit more challenging. I am at a weak point and don't want to gain it all back so maybe the group meetings will get me on track a little better.
