Can anyone help, I suffer from Hyperinsulinmia, resulting in constant low blood sugar and leading to severe daily migranes (for past 10yrs). Drs initially advised me to commence a complex carb diet - which did not help. No triggers, but intolerant to lactose, wheat, gluten. gliden. beef, tuna, eggs. Drs now say to try a low carb diet but due to all the different intolerances I'm finding it difficult. Any suggestions?

Well....you're protein sources are going to be limited, but it's still doable. You can have pork, chicken and tofu for protein as well as lots of different veggies and there's also butter and olive oil for fats. You should still be able to have ham, bacon and sausages made with pork.
What exactly is gliden??

Thanks for your reply Lisa, Gliadin is one of the main protiens in gluten - found in wheat, barley and rye, but not found in the gluten in oat.

Yesterday I bought a book on how to follow a low carb diet, I'm not actually looking to lose weight, but wish to reduce or stop my migranes. Maybe I'll have a bit more luck now.
