Default Opinions on ediets.com?

I used to be a member of ediets (and diettogo.com) but I had to cancel when I found out I was pregnant. I think I lost 2 pounds before I had to cancel. I admit I don't really remember much about it, but I dediced to give it another try.

The ONLY thing I was TRULY interested in was a food tracker like fitday, but apparently they don't offer that feature (grrr). If I'm wrong, someone please point me in the right direction.

Also, I'm still in induction and their meal plans have me eating Atkins bread and all kinds of convenience food -- even on the full recipe/non-convenience plan.

I'm pretty disappointed so far, but I *must* be missing something. Anyone have a good experience with ediets.com or find something there that you haven't been able to find elsewhere?

Ummm... is there a reason not to use FitDay? As far as I know, Ediets doesn't have a similar feature...

Default Good Question!

I was wondering about ediets.com myself. I am doing Atkins and wondered if there is any bonus to doing it through ediets as opposed to doing it on my own. Do they offer anything in the way of help, support or advice that you can't find from the great people in this forum?

I need all the help I can get so if there's something great going on there, I'd appreciate knowing, too. But I'm not going to shell out money for info I can find in DANDR and in this forum and not much else.

Default Dietwatch

You know, I use Dietwatch. It merged with Cyberdiet. The reason I signed up is for their food log. You can enter everything you eat and it has over 20,000 foods (the biggest database online is what they say) and then you can also add your own and also add recipes. It tracks all the nutritionals for you such as fat, cals, carbs, fiber, even vitamins. Each week you get a progress report and daily at a glance you can see where you are at. It is similar to Fitday but it's also a whole website where there are message boards, motivational tools (they have meditations you can listen to) and recipes, etc. It is not a "low carb" site but they have low carb members and a board just for them.

Also you can either do your own diet, entering what you eat as you go, or you can set it on a diet, such as low carb, and it will plan your meals, give you a shopping list, etc. It is pretty cool!

If you send me your email address I can forward you the "invite" letter from their site and if any of you join I will get a free month (which would be greatly appreciated!) You can email me at melpope~verizon.net (the funky sign in the middle is that "at" sign. Not sure why it won't print it correctly!

Thanks!

Because you're not supposed to post email addresses! LOL too late!

I've noticed it's quite common on msg boards/forums.

Well, that's what I was trying to figure out by signing up. They made it seem like they were a COMPLETE diet solution.

FitDay is fine, but I want MORE and better options. It sounds like DietWatch might be what I'm looking for. I did check them out, but only went with eDiets since I had used it before.

melpope -- feel free to send me an invite letter. I'm probably stuck with eDiets for 4 weeks, though. I'll see if I can get them to refund me.

Actually, it's so the email address you post can't be picked up by a SPAM robot. These robots farm email addresses from websites. That's how my webmaster email address on my website got on every SPAM list in the world and how the email addresses posted in my guestbook were farmed. I've since rewritten my site so there are no email addresses in the code to be farmed.
