which is when I compete in my triathlon (I have paid the registration now $50 - so no backing out! )

I have been going to the gym frequently (4-5 times a week) for the past 3 weeks, that and a lower carb diet have helped me lose about 5kg and at least one dress size.

The problem that I think I am going to have is fitting everything in. I have always liked doing weights, so don't want to stop them but also have to fit in enough swimming, cycling and running/walking to make sure that I am fit for the tri.

So, my plan is to try and do weights twice a week. I then need to fit in 2 swims, 2 cycles and 2 runs and one rest day So, two days I will have to fit in two work outs or run off the cycle.

This week I am concentrating on running/cycling and the weights. I will be adding swimming next week.

Weights, I would like if I may Built, copy your beginners work out. It looks like a great starting point and I like the fact that it isn't all legs on one day and all arms on the other.

I would love feed back on my programme....

Thanks for your kind words in my gym log. I must admit, I have been lurking around your gym log - from the moment I saw the word: triathlon. As a runner, and as a mother of a triathloner son I love to read inspirational story from other endurance athletes.

New Zealand !!! Do you have any web page/picture/map of your coming race?
Which distance do you plan to do? Sprint, olympics?

(The Lord Of the Ring movie made me fall in love with your country .)

P.S.: If you check a couple of previous exercise froum threads, you can find posts from many runners, bikers, triathloners....
Here is a great site for first timers : http://www.beginnertriathlete.com - check the programs - great help to organize the training.
