Angry Can't getting going again!!

I went from 232 lbs. to 196 lbs. in the year 2000 using the protein power plan.I am currently 223.5 and can't seem to get going again. I am swimming, and using exercise machines at the YMCA. I am a very busy person (male) trying to find low carb foods out there in a fast food world. When I do stick to the plan, I platau very quickly and get discouraged and fall off the plan. If anyone can help me,please do. By the way I am also a type 2 diabetic and I do a pretty good job (sometimes) of controlling my glucose levels with diet and exercise.
I was very successful initially and know that it works. Someone PLEASE HELP ME GET GOING AGAIN!!!

Your efforts worked before! The difference is that this time, there are dozens of people ready to help and encourage you! One thing I've picked up in this forum is that you have to adapt your perspective- it's "being on a diet;' it's a new way of looking at your food, your eating habits and your lifestyle! You've got the incentive already or you wouldn't have joined this forum--take pride in the fact that you take steps to be where you want to be! Go for it!

Oops- It's NOT "being on a diet"- it's a healthier way of eating that that fits in beautifully with your swimming and workouts!

How about not spending time being discouraged when you reach a plateau, but use that time to either check your foods (hidden carbs) and a different set of exercises. I know it will happen. I have to be patient also. I got on the scale today and it read 179lbs. Now how is THAT possible when I can now fit my brand new size 12 jeans? Last month I couldn't even get them past my thighs. I, like you, must be patient. I know this WOE works and I'm haven't been exercising 6x a week like I used to. Once I start exercising again, I'll be sure to rotate my routines so I won't plateau and be diligent about what goes in my mouth.

Give up? Not in my vocabulary--maybe you should erase it from yours too! Good luck.
