Default I'm being so bad

I've been so bad lately. You see, my sister had her birthday party on sunday. That means pizza and cake. I was pretty good about the pizza. I only had two pieces without most of the crust.

The cake is another story..... I love iceing. And we still have bunches left. My mom says she's gonna freeze it after today.

Its just so frustrating because everytime i pass i HAVE to have a little iceing. Thats fine.... but after 10 times... its not so good.

This diet is hard for me. Calorie diets are so much easier, but for a good reason. I can starve myself easily.... but i'm addicted to sugar. On the low cal diets i did before, I'd eat at least 80 percent sugary stuff. I still didn't lose weight.

Of course, when I eat bunches of sugar I feel awful. Its like a drug.... scary huh?

So I'll have a last (small) piece of cake tonight and make my mom put it in the freezer.

Of course, tomorrow is my sister's real birthday and we are having a family party.... guess what that means... pasta, ice cream and of course... cake.
Luckily I don't like this upcoming cake nearly as much as I like the one that I am staring at right now! yum... iceing..... erg

Gonna go get some water and make some splenda ice cream now.. ttyl.

Alex

Default Hi Alex

Oh boy do I know how you feel.

The thing I want to tell you is by eating cake you are not being "bad". You simply made a choice. Listen, this isn't a diet...you need to look at it as a way of eating, a way you are taking care of your body responsibly.

When parties come or you are faced with other social eating, just do your best to avoid the sugar. A small peice of cake isn't going to kill you. It will set you back if you eat too much of it though. Remember, the less sugar you eat, the less you will crave. Do not give sugar that much power over you. It is a drug if you ask me. Here's what I do in these emergency situations. When I see cake or cookies or anything sugary of floury, I say to myself "that stuff is poison to my system. Do I really want to ingest poison and make myself feel absolutely horrible?" Most of the time the answer is a big fat (no pun intended) NO! But, sometimes I say oh, what the heck!

Life is about moderation and balance. You'll find yours. Just relax and think with your brain and not your taste buds!!

Hang in there, your doing just fine!

Ehren

Default I feel your pain... I'm a sugar junkie too!

I hear what you are saying... I have a hard time turning my back on icing too! I use to have to have my sugary candy everyday! (Especially now that the candy corn is out in the stores....) I have only been doing this for a week now, but have not had any sugar urges... Whenever I do get a craving, I have a couple of roasted nuts (no sugar coated). Or, sugar free jello with homemade whipped cream (with artificial sweetner) topping does the trick too! I think the first month will probably be the hardest... But like they say, its the choices you make !

Alright Alex! Put your hands up; back away from the cake and no one will get hurt!

When I first started SB I needed things like SF Jell-o or Pudding or even the ocasional No Sugar Added Ice Cream in order to wean myself off of the "High Octane" Stuff. After a few weeks the cravings disappeared and I didn't NEED them anymore. I still have them once in awhile but its no longer that "I'd kill for something Sweet" feeling that I used to get.

Hang in there bud! You can do this!
