Default My old friends, the Blue Jeans

Woow Hoo!!!

I had been feeling mildly displeased at the rather slow progress I'm seeing on the scale--week one lost 3.5 pounds, week 2 lost 3,(so far so good) but only one-half pound a week in weeks 3,4, and 5.

BUT...BUT!! Today I tried on my old favorite jeans and they fit fine--not baggy yet but no struggle with the zipper, no feeling like a stuffed sausage, no discomfort or bloaty feeling. They FIT. And when I ate my breakfast omelette I didn't feel stuffed and bloated.

On the other hand...I am very pleased that I am no longer needing my heartburn medicine. I am also doing Tae Kwan Do on a more intense schedule than before (4x per week, not 3, and one of those classes is one hour instead of 45 minutes.)I read on this board (bless my brothers and sisters in LC!) that muscle does retain some water when you are working out so I'm assuming that's what happens. And I'm having no trouble finding foods to eat and enjoy, not missing the bread and potatoes. I'm not going to stress over the scale one bit as I wear those newly fitting blue jeans again!

Best wishes,
Nancy

Good going!

I prefer the blue-jean-o-meter to the scale myself. The scale can be really fickle but when the old clothes start fitting again you KNOW you're doing well. My goal weight is really just a guess for when I can wear a particular little pair I loved and have been hanging onto for years... when they fit, I'm at goal, no matter what the scale says.

YIPPEEE!!! It feels so great to zip those things up and have them actually fit. A couple of months ago a friend gave me some jeans--I could barely squeeze into them, they were incredibly tight--recently I tried them on again and they fit, are even a bit loose in some parts. Incredible! Don't you just love this WOE?!
