For me, I couldn't get into ketosis when I first started and I was losing very little weight. I was eating Atkins low carb bars as snacks and my sticks wouldn't turn pink. I decided to cut them out and ate only beef, chicken, fish, eggs, cheese and vegies, as the Atkins book suggests. (I guess you call that a "clean induction"). I was then able to get into ketosis after two days. Plus, I started losing weight at a faster pace. I think some people can get into ketosis while eating sugar alcohols, but for me it didn't work.
