Question Question about Whey protein

Hello-
My husband and I are Protein Power converts, and could not be happier! Why didn't I read this book before?? WOW!
Anyway, I am wondering if any of you have suggestions for use of the whey protein beyond the "shake" by mixing it with water. We both enjoy the convenience, especially for the rushed mornings.
Neither of us are milk drinkers (upset stomach), so we have been left with water. It is fine- I am not complaining, but simply wondering if there are any other uses.
Thanks so much!!

Check this out - Kristine's Hot Flax Cereal.

It's very tasty, full of fibre and filling too!

I modified a recipe by sashquash from the daily Protein Power thread . Not sure if the cottage cheese would be OK for you - if not, I have done this with yogurt and omitted the water. It is more like a smoothie that way.

1 cup cottage cheese
1 scoop chocolate whey powder
1 tsp vanilla flavoring (have used other extracts / flavors also)
sweetener to taste
a bit of water to get this to blend (I start with 1/8 cup and add more if it is too thick)

I blend it using an immersion blender, but have made it at my Mom's with a regular blender. Just blend until smoth and enjoy - very filling and packed with protein.

you can use it and make pancakes

1 scoop powder
1 egg
3 tbs liquid (i use a water and cream mix about 2tbs water and 1tbs cream)
1 tbs oil
splash of vanilla (probably about 1/2 tsp.)
1/4 tsp baking powder

fry like pancakes, they are thin and runny so i usually dump all the batter in a frying pan and then when the bottom sets a little, use the spatula to "cut" into 4 cakes. this recipe makes one batch of 4.

i like to top mine with some unsweetened strawberry jam, or sf maple syrup

Try Whey protein and cottage cheese (equal parts) mixed together...forms like a chees cake almost...and add no-carb pie filling...YES it does exsist! There is strawberry and blueberry...comes in a can...and is available at most low carb retailers!!! ENJOY!

You might want to pick up a good LC cookbook. The Eades (authors of PP) wrote one called "Comfort Foods" that uses a lot of the powders. Also, Dana Carpender has several cookbooks that are good..

Or check out the recipe forum and board here. There are a ton of things you can do with the stuff.
