Hi All! I hope someone can help me...

I am looking for a list of veggie and other food servings by weight. For example I know that 1/2 cup red peppers is 3.3 ECC but how does one really stuff pepper slices into a 1/2 cup??? I love my scale. So how many grams/ounces of pepper is = to 1/2 cup.

Is there anything out there like that?

At the top of the page under Low-Carb Tools is a counter that has a listing for everything in 100 grams. Weighing is the way to go!

I also want to weigh but I can not find a scale. I live out in the country so my shopping is limited. Does anyone know if walmart has a food scale and if so what catagory it would be in?

I got mine off of Ebay........I got an Escali digital scale that weighs up to 6 lbs. and I think it was ~ $25. I use it for weighing packages too. You can put your empty bowl on it and then hit the "tare" button and it goes to zero, then you can add your food without any mental arithmetic.

Walmart has a ton of scales ranging from $3-$30 depending on if you want digital and how big. I ended up with more then one because the one that weighed pounds wasn't to accurate on smaller measures. I wish I would of just bought a decent digital one though.

They are located in house appliances around where toasters or such are.

I bought a digital POSTAGE scale at Staples Business Depot .. for a lot cheaper than a kitchen shop would charge for a food scale. It weighs in increments of 1 gram or 0.2 oz, up to 2.2 kg or 5 lbs. It has a tare function, so you can weigh multiple ingredients by just re-zeroing after each addition.

Sunbeam, model # SP5, slim profile, non-skid feet.



Walmart might have something similar too ... look in the section where they sell stationery and business supplies.
