Question Kfc

hey guys!

i wanted to find out if anyone here knows if KFC is ok for carbs.

i went to thier web site and it stated the carbs in milligrams. i wonder if this is a typo and it should be grams.

otherwise this would be a great junk food treat only less than 1 gram of carb/serving

i am aware of the nitrates it must have, but sometimes we all crave that deep fried goodness.

KFC uses some kind of breading. I am assuming they use flour. I think the carb count would be more than 1 gram, but I can't say that for sure.

hey steph_hi

i have not been to the website itself but if the carbs are listed in milligrams, you just need to divide by 1000 to get your grams.
Would this answer a little bit of your questions?...
I apologise if you knew this but it was not clear from your post...

Also, I wouuld say that you go there but remove the breading which is the high carb component. Below all that (furry) layer is the real chicken... although I believe that KFC without the breading removes all the taste... most of the spices are on it....

Hi Steph,

They goofed! I'm pretty sure it should read "grams" not "milligrams". I went to their website to check it out (I love KFC), I couldn't believe those numbers, a whole biscuit with only 20 milligrams of carbs. So I downloaded their PDF version of the same nutritional table and in the PDF version it says g instead of mg. So I think the website is a typo.

I think I'll send them an e-mail to let them know they goofed.

Arnie

the pure example of the low carber rule of thumb:

always question the labels

Thanks for the note Arnie_g. I obviously read this all wrong!

They have an 800 number on their web site so I called them and they said that it is wrong, it should be grams. They'll change it.

Too bad, I'd love to be chomping on KFC tonight, but I guess I'll be cookin' again.....
