Random Food Chart
My husband found this sandwich filling chart in an old recipe book. I think it's cool. You could roll a die to see what combinations you come with it.
Choose a basic ingredient (roll a D-8, an eight sided die)
1. Chopped, ground or minced cooked meat, (veal, ham, pork, lamb, beef, corned beef (is it low carb?) chicken or frankfurter) (roll D-8 again to choose which meat if you want to)
2. Shrimp, rinsed and drained
3. Crabmeat, drained and cartilage removed
4. Tuna, drained
5. Salmon, drained and boned
6. Hard cooked eggs, chopped
7. American or Chedder cheese, shredded (any kind of cheese)
8. Creamed cottage cheese, drained
Add interest with (roll a D-6, a common six sided die)
1. Green veggies, celery, green pepper, broccoli (insert favorite)
2. Not so green veggies/fruits, onion, tomato, cucumber, carrot (insert favorite low carb item that fits this category)
3. Pickle and or relish (dill)
4. Chopped olives, green, black or pimento stuffed
5. Crumbled crisply fried bacon
6. Chopped nuts (watch your carb count)
Spread with (or just put on top) roll a D-6
1. Mayonnaise
2. Salad dressing (I know carbs, but I like it)
3. Ranch dressing
4. Sour cream
5. Blue cheese dressing
6. Salsa (I put this here instead of French dressing)
If desired season with (Roll a D-12, a twelve sided die)
1. Salt
2. Pepper
3. Garlic salt
4. Onion salt
5. Onion juice (this exists?)
6. Lemon juice
7. Worcestershire sauce (not sure about carb content)
8. Red pepper sauce
9. Prepared mustard
10. Horseradish (not sure about carb content)
11. Dill weed
12. Chili powder
Garnish with (roll a D-10, a ten sided die)
1. Iceburg lettuce
2. Spinich
3. Watercress
4. Endive
5. Bermuda onion slices
6. Radish slices
7. Tomato slices
8. Green pepper slices
9. paprika
10. Romaine lettuce
