Question New to LC forum

I'm new in this forum, in fact, I'm nervous because there are so many threads and forums, it's making me "dizzy". I hope to get support and motivation. I'm a little bit of a "downer". I workout at Curves 3days/wk, ride a stationary bicycle 4days/wk, am trying to use a elliptical machine, but only can do 5-7 min twice/wk. I currently am taking one medication for my RA, and 2 medications for my diabetes. I also have osteoporosis, and I stopped taking medication for it in November as well as three other medications for my RA. I consume multivitamin and vitamin supplements, and I feel good. No pain or inflammation yet. I've modified my eating plan, not "diet" from Curves/Dr Phil's Ultimate Weight Solution and Lee Haney's meal plans. I don't have any concerns taking care of another person other than myself. I do try to meet with other people from my church once a week or every other week. I phone my family once a week, but they are not much of a support system. I try to do daily fun things or chores every other day.
Thanks.

Welcome, you will find the forum helpful.

Try not to be overwhelmed.

I haven't decided how best I like to read the forum yet.
I think I like being subscribed to a few threads best, but I still often scroll through news posts looking for things that pique my interest.

If I were you I would definetely start a journal so that when you make buddies they can check in on you.

Also I know in the exercise forum there are threads about Curves, you could join one of those threads and make support buddies there.

Under countdowns and challenges you will likely find a challenge or a buddy with similar stats or interests as you have.
You can even start a thread describing the kind of buddy you are looking for and find some support that way.

Good luck and happy LCing.

Smile I'm new too!

Hello, I am new at this forum thing too, and very confused.lol. I just hoped to get support or even give some while doing this diet. I am not doing the Atkins plan, not really sure what plan to do. I started 2 weeks ago, my husband started last week, withg my oldest daughter. He lost 8 pounds. I haven't lost anything yet, but...I feel great, and my jeans are loser than they have been for quite a while. I'd like to chat or just figure out how to use this forum. If you figure anything out let me know. thanks/ wesandsuzy

Thumbs up I like these forums!

I agree it can be a little addictive, but it is a great learning experience. I'm not confused as much now. I'm cheat free for 3 days, today I thought I ate alot but it wasn't enough calories. I had a busy day, working out, doing several errands, didn't get home until 6 p.m. I've been out since 8 a.m. Over the weekend, I checked out many forums to understand how to use and read the forums. Most informative! I love doing fitday.com. It is so easy to keep track each day, and all in one place. I hope I continue adding and filling it until I reach my goal.
Do I just keep clicking the icon "journal" next to my username to add entries? Please reply.
Thanks. Keep it up!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I noticed that you have RA and are only on one med now. Good for you! How did you manage that?

I have had arthritis for 7 years now and my (several) meds haven't change since. Where are your worst areas? Mine are my knees (but I have it everywhere).

How do you manage so much exercise? I'm lucky if my knees allow me 15 - 30 minutes daily.

Congrats on your success so far!!

I'm not on meds anymore, I'm taking vitamins and supplements that are helping me cope with my RA, diabetes and osteoporosis.
