I need to get some form of birth control (either the pill or the patch), but I'm concerned about it slowing my weight loss. Has this been a problem for anyone?

Been on several different forms of BC pill since I started Atkins well over a year ago.

Since I was on it when I started I can't say I noticed any real effect on my weight loss- I mean, I lost a lot of weight despite taking it.

Try and see if your doctor can give you one without the sugar coating (like mine have) just to try and prevent any problems, but honestly, I think you can break through any stall that could be caused by the Pill, just by your body getting used to it and persistently being low-carb!

Wow, I didn't know BC pills had a sugar coating. I'll remember that when I go see my dr tomorrow. Hopefully I won't have a problem. Congrats on your weight loss, your stats look great!

Just posting my 2 cents. I have been on BCP's for the past 2 years and I still have lost. Didn't seem to influence the weight loss at all. I also switched last month to the Nuva Ring and again. Still losing. So you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck. =)

Thanks Hymntonink. I just got back from my gyno. What I really wanted was the patch, but she says it's not really effective for women who weigh over 150 lbs, so she gave me the Nuva Ring. So I guess I'll be able to tell within the next month or so if I'm having a problem with weight loss. Of course I'd continue to use the birth control even if it does slow my loss.. I just won't be very happy about it. We'll see!
