Default Maltitol

Is maltitol "bad" or bad only if it creates a stall? I am so enjoying an occasional piece of the Pure De-lites chocolates, but wondering about that particular ingredient. Thanks for any input.

I don't find anything wrong with an occational piece now and then. If it doesn't make you stall or turn on your sugar cravings. Seems that for some, it causes insulin to rise same as sugar. Not good. And too much is likely to cause gas, or worse. But as long as I stick to eating just one piece, or even one serving at a time, I'm usually fine. I figure, compared to the grotesque amount of real sugar I used to eat, I won't worry about having a sugar-free candy every now and then. Though I'm starting to find that I don't even crave them anymore.

Here's a link to most everything you'd want to know about Maltitol and other sugar alcohols. Thanks, Doreen!

And, let's not forget about the wonderful side effects for some people of stomach cramps and the runs!
