Talking First Weigh-In on Atkins

Week One is over, and I lost 5 lbs.!!! I'm so thrilled to see the results on the scale, but the fact that my pants aren't tight any longer is even more exciting.

Today was the first day I used the Ketostix, and I am in a "moderate" to "high" state of ketosis. I haven't had any of the funny mouth sensations that I've read about, so I wasn't sure if I was actually in ketosis. Glad to know that I am!

I'm looking forward to Week Two, and now have the confidence to continue on the Induction plan.

Best of luck to everyone! Happy LC-ing

Thumbs up Congratulations!

5 lbs ain't nothin to sneeze at! You don't have much weight to lose, so don't be horribly disappointed if you don't keep losing at this great rate!

The "taste" of ketosis didn't happen for me until about the 3rd week. At first I thought it was just an aftertaste from some of the artificial sweeteners I was using. But then I noticed that it didn't go away. Starting to get used to it now.

But no matter what the stix or scales say, trust that this LC WOL works. Someone has referred to a pant-o-meter -- noticing how much better your pants fit is a great motivator when the scales are lying and won't budge!

Keep up the good work!

Question carb counts

Hi everyone' I have so much to lose and expected more than the 5 pound weight loss that I had the first week, but better than what I was if 5 pounds gone forever.
The board is becoming a daily need for me,
Now here is my question and please do not giggle. When a tsp of something or a tablespoon states 0 carbs how do I comput when I want more?Does it meen 10 tbs are still zero? I doubt it. Any help would be appreciated. Thx Gen

If it states 1 tbs is 0 carbs that means that it can actually be up to .9 carbs per tbs.

So i'm sorry to inform you that the safe way to count carbs is to count it as 1 carb per serving.
