A friend of mine had a 'bathroom book' full of interesting facts. Supposedly Twinkies never see the heat of an oven...just lots of chemical processing to get that weird cake and plastic cream texture. Anyone know if that's true?

And we wonder why people are obese - At least they added some low-carb pizza ideas at the end!

I have a good friend who lives in Scotland, and the food that's all the rage there is Deep Fried Mars Bars. The chippies (fish and chip establishments) also do a Deep Fried Pizza and Deep Fried Twinkie.

WE have our state fair in Des Moines right now... some of the treats are the deep fat fried twinkies, deep fat fried candy bars, and pork chops on a stick (hey... we can do that one).

I'm going this Saturday. I haven't cheated on Atkins yet...
hmmm......
um............. AND I'M NOT ABOUT TO START!

I'll let you know.

Yeah, I saw on the food network (which I am addicted to) that deep fried candy bars are picking up in popularity all over the world...

Methinks that even before my LC days, I would not have been able to handle that....

Have fun Galaga! I haven't been to the fair in years (I'm originally from Des Moines)...I did have a pork chop on a stick at a local festival here and it was great. When you see the funnel cake vendor - turn and run!!!

Ooooh!! DrChickon!!!

I love the Food Network too!!
BAM!! And who couldn't love Emeril and his pork fat approach!!

(Now Sara (from Cooking Live & Sara's Secrets) sort of gets on my nerves....she seems to always try and rush people while they are cooking...and she seems to give a fake smile)

And Randisu....*fainting...I love Mexican food PERIOD. Does anyone know of any good low carb recipes??? (besides fajitas)

Galaga,

Are they the soft tortillas or hard tortilla shells? And where did you find them. Honestly, we eat mexican about 3-4 nights a week....and with out the salsa, beans and tortillas....it just doesn't seem like it's mexican.
