Default Am I doing (or did) something majorly wrong?

Hi Folks,
I'm a 25 year old male doing 20 grams of carbs a day. On Super Bowel (intentional misspelling) Sunday I had the urge to well, get a buzz on, so I drank some diet sodas with some flavored rums. Like the last time I drank I had a huge ketosis reading the day after. Well it is now Thursday, the scale went from 316 to 325 (after sunday) and this morning it was 319. And for the last 3 ketostix readings it has been trace or negative. I've been eating 20 grams or less a day (to my knowledge, I did guess on a few things mild sauce for wings, salad that had a few carrot strips etcs.) And now I'm worried I messed up, am out of ketosis, and now gaining weight. I'm scared. I want this to work. Any advice?

P.S. Been drinking alot of water recently to try to get back on track (back down to 316 then on to more weight loss) so that could be the reason for the ketostix not registering but I am in a panic. I want it to be a 2-5 lbs a week again

It may very well have had sugar. But why the sudden huge ketosis reading the day after and why aren't I back in ketosis (in a normal way by now). It only took 4 days to get nice readings when I started 4.5 weeks ago

Flavored rum has carbs in it. Even if i drink just regular rum (which is around 0-1carb) it still messes me up for a couple of days. Im definitely willing to bet that the rum threw you out of ketosis.

Ok, thats kewl, but can I get back in to ketosis again? And how? And did I do some permanent damage that is gonna ruin Atkins for me? And do you gain while you are getting back into ketosis?

I just tested my strip and now it IS registering a good reading, but its also when my pee turned yellow from my vitamins... connection?

Howdy!

Take a deep breath and relax.

You can't do permanent damage or ruin this thing.
One can screw up, however, and after that you just learn from your digression and play it straight until you mess up again.... or not.

This works and it is very forgiving.

My best advice is to have patience and be good to yourself.
It sounds like you are going to succeed at this.
