Default Potential thyroid issue?

I'm starting to suspect I have some kind of thyroid issue going on. My eyes have been swollen since my hypoglycemia started about four years ago and it's not getting any better. A year ago I began getting pitting edema in my right leg. Now I'm having difficulty breathing and my weight keeps going up. Supposedly these are all possible symptoms of hypothyroid and I'm getting pretty scared. My current doctors tested my thyroid a few times these past years but they only checked TSH and T3, I believe, and things were fine so they're just saying I have allergies and asthma and I'm fat. I have a feeling it's not any of those and I want to be sure.

Also I started Atkins style Induction again a few days ago and I feel like I've been hit by a truck. My body just does not want to move, I'm cold, my eyes swell more, and my skin is drying out. I wonder if this is caused by thyroid problems too.

Is there a decent thyroid doctor in Pennsylvania or the surrounding states? What can I do to rule this disease out? I haven't even found a decent endo yet so I'm not feeling very confident about the prospects.
