Angry Sick and waaayyyyyy off plan.

I've been pretty much off-plan for about 2 weeks now, having been sick (I'll spare you the details, it's a girl-type thing) and just can't do it. The mere thought of some of the low-carb meals I love quite often makes me want to gag. Even salad dressings are disgusting to me! Blech! I'm limiting where I can, but until my system calms down, I'm eating breads and crackers somewhat. I have no idea why, but it soothes my poor body right now. My stomach is threatening to run away to Arizona, live on a chicken ranch and write bad poetry, so I'm giving it what makes it feel better for the moment.

I'm a big baby and I HATE this!!! I can't wait to feel better.

Regardless, I'm re-starting on Monday with a strict induction.

Suzanne,
Don't beat yourself up. I have had happen exactly what you are talking about and just ate "fat free" for a while.. like rice cakes with sugar free jelly and other bad stuff like that. That way, when I am off of the healthy way, and causing my insulin levels to rise, there isn't all that much fat to grab and stick to my body. I kno0w exactly what you mean by needing the "light" foods instead of the heavy foods. I am going though this today but thankfully not eating anything "bad" yet. But I so much want a rice cake right now instead of another slap of meat or cheese. Just get right back on, you'll feel better once you are back into the healthy way. *hugs* from someone that understands.

All I want is bland. bland bland bland. I'm getting ready to run out for lunch & just trying to think of something, anything, that I can eat comfortably.

If it's a girl type thing, are cramps involved?

If you are eating wayy of plan your body may respond with gas and bloating which could make the problem even worse. You might try a comprimise with very bland LC foods.

Make your own chicken soup
Jicama
Celery

and so on.

YES! Cramps, backaches, nausea, fatigue. It's the bubonic plague, I tells ya!

Ok, I made a real unhealthy choice for lunch, but it feels good in my tummy and I don't think I'll see it again.

What else can I eat that's low-carb but still very bland and dry? Maybe I'll pick up some of that low-carb bread & stick with cheese sammiches - it's not great but better than what I'm eating right now. Trying to think of similar foods, would appreciate any advice! I havn't picked up anything like that as I keep thinking that I'll feel better, but the thought of eating my "normal" stuff just keeps grossing me out.
