Default Weekend BFL check-in 5/8/04

How was everyone's week? Thought I'd go ahead and start the thread now while I had a chance to write. What goals or other milestones did you achieve this week? How are you looking and feeling?

------------------------------------------------------------

I've been doing great on the workouts - really have gotten into a routine. Because of my work schedule I only made one Pilates class and will go to yoga today. I managed to do 1 full bicep curl with 30# - will keep trying it until I can do a set. I can now pick up a 45# plate with one hand, although I am very careful not to drop it on my foot after an injury last year! On Tues I weighed in down again at 123#, but I think I was just dehydrated. Back up to 126#. Eating about 3000 cal/day and still having problems gaining.

Got a real kick in the pants at work Thurs. A couple of nurses were eating breakfast with me (actually MY 3rd time to eat that day - had already eaten meal#1 and a PWO shake). I was measuring my jelly, just so I could accurately put my #'s into fitday. They started talking about how I was too skinny, looked anorexic not muscular, probably had an eating disorder, etc. The biggest joke was that they thought I ate about 1000 cal/day, but I couldn't convince them otherwise. They also said I wasn't feminine enough, but I couldn't get much of a word in edgewise to even ask what they meant by that. I do suspect they mean I am not "ladylike" enough, which may just be a Northern vs Southern cultural thing. I told them to go to he!! and if they wanted to make something of it I'd meet them both in the parking lot. Just kidding... I do consider these women to be my friends and usually get along with them great, so I didn't want to start a problem, and I do appreciate them saying it to my face instead of behind my back. Of course, the ironic thing is that I never have any shortage of male attention, so I question their opinions.

Jen

my third week was a little rough and rocky.. I worked a couple hours overtime on sat (my first workout is on saturdays) and ended up doing that LBWO on sunday and skipping sunday's cardio .. I stayed kinda tired through the week but more from work then anything else
I was about ready to toss my scale but I got a really big shock come time to weigh and measure this week the scale is still going down steadily but I have also gained like 4lbs in muscle and my BF is now under 25% and if that was not sweet enough I got to wear a pair of pants to work last night that I had picked out to be my challange goal (guess I gotta make a new goal huh?) so all in all I have nothing what so ever to complain about
its off to get my UBWO in and then bedtime for me! ya'll have a great day

Did all my workouts. Realized this morning I'm not pushing myself enough physically or mentally. So I know what I'll work on next week.

Jen, those nurses are just jealous. It amazes me how people try to drag you down. Most people don't realize just how hard it is to gain weight. It's actually harder than loosing weight. And some people are just naturally thin no matter what they do. You'd think that as nurses, they'd know this, but alas, that isn't so. I would say you need to pick new friends but the truth is, most people will make the same stupid coments. Their opinion doesn't count, only yours does.

Haha, I see both Jen and I started the weekend thread at exactly the same time this morning. Too funny, I guess great minds think alike at the same time.
