It may affect your weight loss and it may not. (That's helpful, isn't it?) LOL

The thing about any alcohol is that the metabolism burns alcohol first so it puts off burning fat. This slows the weight loss.

I have read posts of people who continued to have their one glass of alcohol every day and had no problem. You will probably have to try it and see. If you don't lose weight, then drop it.

Hope this is helpful.

You should really try to go with out it for the induction period, but if you cannot, the Protien Power diet allows one glass with dinner I beleive.

I now have my wine (1-2) when every I feel like it, it has'nt effected my weight loss. However, I did stay away from it for the first 3-4 weeks, I know it's hard, but I feel it was worth it to get me going on this way of eating.

Good Luck, Kathy

My husband and I had a glass of wine last Sat. night. I stalled for 2 days then lost 2 pds. Don't know if it was the wine or not, but I'm not going to chance that again. I'd go w/out if I were you.

Default Substitute to wine?

I am the same way, I love my wine during diner. How can substitute it with a non-sweet, not too strong beverage?

SDgrandma,

I also stayed away from wine while doing induction, since your body will burn the alcohol first, but I did start having a glass or two of wine with dinner when I left induction. Hasn't seemed to affect me, but as the others stated, everyone is different and everything affects everyone differently. I know, not much help. But, if you want to indulge in a glass of wine, just make sure it is dry red wine. They are the lowest in carbs.

Hope I helped, just a little

I'm another one who found it difficult to give up my glass or two of wine so decided to keep drinking. I imagine it's slowed my weight loss, but that's the price I'm prepared to pay for my little "treat"

Default It's Only Two Weeks!

The point of induction is to get all that stuff out of you system. Then when you add it back in... you'll know if it stalls you or not.
