Default Coffee?

I have heard different opinions regarding coffee. Does it actually slow or prevent weight loss?

It has not stalled me at all. I only drink one cup in the morning though.

I am a college student and drink a lot of coffee. The Adkins site says that it causes sugar cravings, but I am not one that is prone to sweet tooth problems. I also have the endulge products for any weak moments.

I also drink 1 or 2 6oz. cups in the morning.... there is 0.7 grams of carbs in black coffee, so if you drink a lot of it you have to count those carbs, especially if you add cream and Splenda.... Cream is 0.8 per T. and

I think Splenda is a gram for each packet...( not 100% sure on this)

Default Coffee

I have continued to drink coffe, I just couldn't give it up

I don't know if it affected my loss, but since I am extremely happy with my results so far, I don't plan on giving it up to find out! I do stick to only one cup a day, with a tablespoon of cream and no sweetner.

Good luck Cicero!!

Hi

Yeah, if coffee doesn't have any calories, I don't see how it can have any carbs...

Sweetener packs usually add .5 g, and cream or milk add more.

I lost all of my weight while having one caffed coffee and one decaffed coffee during the first six weeks or so. Then I gave up trying to not drink caffeine. I was even having Starbucks Lattes for a while and maintaining my weight.

However, I am trying to get back to 20g carbs to lose a few more pounds, and for the volume of coffee I drink, sometimes it takes up 50% of my carb intake in a day (cream & sweetener).

Careful!!

I have forced myself to switch to black coffee. I want to save my carbs for food. One of my favorite treats is to sprinkle splenda over cream cheese and put it in a low carb wrap.

Here's some more info about coffee:

When I was following Atkins, I tested this and found that I still lost at the same rate wether drinking coffee or not.
