Cool Miami Florida is Anti-Low Carb. Territory

I dare any body to live in Miami and maintain a LC WOE.

My sad story is that I have only been living less than two months in this area (from Toronto suburbs) as a Canadian Snowbird, and have managed to gain back 9 pounds that I had lost up north.

How can any normal human resist the delicious high carb foods that are readily available on every corner from latin restaurants and 'Food By The Pound' outlets.

How can you resist:

Morros (Cuban rice and beans)
Lechon Asado (Cuban Roast Pork)
Yucca Frita (Fried yucca root that tastes better than French Fries)
Coffe Cubano (Espresso cup of Cuban coffee and sugar, that revitalizes your whole day)
Platano Maduro (Fried ripe plantains that taste heavenly sweet)
And on and on and on .......

Does any body have a solution, short of going back to the freezing north?

I feel sorry for any Miamians that try to live a Low Carb Way Of Life in this gastronomic paradise.

Oh well, let me try again and go back on my LC WOE for the 30th time in the past 30 days. Woe is me.

Regards

Joe

Cool

I have a visitor from Dallas arriving in two weeks to Miami.

He is also a Low Carber.

I would appreciate if any local Low Carbers would have any restaurant recommendations.

Thank you in advance

Joe
