Default an all natural (i think) aid to take that stops "Carb absorbtion"

I was shopping the other day and noticed a new thing in the medication section. I think it was "all natural" but not sure as i didn't really have time to read it. It was a daily pill that was called "stop the carbs".. Apparently it blocks the bodies absorbtion of carbs. Have any of you heard of it and if so is it safe?....... I know i did the Xenical thing. That is the med that stops the absorbtion of fats into your system. Works good and you lose weight but running to the bathroom with diarria just isn't worth it!!

Humm, sounds too good to be true, Eat carbs and your body doesn't absorb them!
Hell, if so,I figure if I take them and I take Xenical , I can eat anything and be a runway model very soon!

Whada ya think?

*Peace

Personally, I think it's just something else to blow money on! If it worked, we'd hear a whole lot more hype about it from people who were actually using it and losing weight. And there would be a lot less people in this LC forum!

Sounds wonderful..almost too good to be true...but it may be. I don't wish to dampen your enthusiasm. Why don't you give it a go and let us know how well it works.

I remember the Chitosan rage which blocked fat. Everyone was taking that and eating fat without worry. But after a bit of reading I learned that it only blocked 1-2 tspns of fat so what happened to all of the other fat that was consumed???? So does it block all carbs or is there a limit? I just don't feel comfortable about putting things into our bodies which could have other effects that we don't know about. There is too much cancer and other health problems being caused by all of the 'tampering' that goes on with food production. I think our bodies need as much natural food as they can get......then they function best.
If it works..go for it and tell us all about it. Good luck

nah i am a chicken Yogibear ! !

And you are right. Probably too good to be true. But God it sounds good. I am like you , in that i am scared to put that sort of crap in to my body. BUT and i say BUT, if it has been tried and it is a good thing and safe then i am all for it. I guess i am one of the "you try it first and see what happens" kind of person. I just can't seem to find someone who has tried it yet !. Maybe for good reasons.
I am always looking for the "best fix" to get this damn weight down. And darn it all, i keep finding out that it is what i put in my mouth that will make the differance and that it is all up to me. I hate that concept!

Thanks
Peace

I just always think that if all these little "miracles" worked....the whole world would be slim!

I think for the most part we're just seen as desperate, easy marks for someone else to get rich on.

You'll get there with CAD. Just hang on and be patient.

Just a word about the Carb Suppress pills. No they are not a magic pill enabling you to eat all the carbs you want.(Not unless you want to set up residence in the bathroom). The same restrictions apply. You have to follow the plan for the CM's and The RM's. I follow the rules for the CM's and then about a half an hour before I eat my RM's I take one carb-suppress pill. I eat my salad and then have a balanced meal. What the pill does for me is that I can avoid the cravings for a snack which I get before I go to bed(I start my RM between 5 and 6 o'clock pm and I go to bed usually around 11 pm). I seem to be super sensitive to carbs ( I have fybromyalgia as well as other auto-immune problems)The problem with cravings happens only at night and not during the day. As my body adjusts to the new way of eating I will (As was recommended)gradually cut back on the pills, and eventually stop taking them. Don't take the pills without first discussing it with someone knowledgable and do some research. If you really don't need them don't take them. If anyone wants to know the ingredients of the pills I will post them another day.

I saw these the other night, and after I stopped laughing I took a look at the ingredients. Then I promptly started laughing again! First ingredient was SUGAR. (The "magic" ingredient was some sort of white kidney bean extract.)

The product I use is SCI * FIT Carb Suppress. Supports reduced carbohydrate absorption. The ingredients are: Phaseolus Vulgaris(extract of Northern white kidney bean);Vitamin C(absorbic acid);Chromium Polynicotinate ; Vandium(BMOV). Proprietary Blend: Bee Pollen Powder;Green Tea Extract; Ginseng Siberian Extract;Ginseng Korean Extract; Royal Jelly. I have no idea what it costs other then this brand is probably expensive. My son is a Personal Trainer and Martial Arts Instructor; he gave it to me to try after he made sure that it didn't interact with my other medications and wouldn't interfere with my other health problems. (it is handy having the same Doctor). But it only aids me as I am establishing my new way of eating. It is definately a crutch and should not be used as an excuse to over eat on carbs or for a long term solution. Sorry, not a magic pill.
