Smile New and Lost 27 Pounds

Just started on Atkins last August because it was time to do something about my weight. My sister ranted and raved about it and she's a nurse. She has been on and off of it for the last three years. So I was convinced and have been on it with the occasional cheat meal (3 since August 9, 2003). I look better and for the most part have felt better. I have colleagues at work who have started Atkins since seeing my results. I do get some worriesome looks and comments from others such as "Oh, Atkins, the kidney killer", but I respectfully let them know that the diet is only a problem if the person already has existing kidney disfunction.

In any event, I am glad that there is a forum such as this where I can bounce things off of people who may have had more experience with this diet than I have.

Happy LCBing

Welcome! You are making great progress!

I do wonder, though, why your sister's been off and on. In order for the plan to be truly effective, one must realize this is a way of life, not a crash diet.
