Default weight loss supplements

Hi, do any of you feel it's necessary to be taking supplements like the Atkins weight loss products, L-Glutamine, Chromine, and those other diet-related products in order to really lose weight?

I am taking several supplements, but none to help me lose weight. I am taking a dieter's vitamin and Vitamin C because my doctor recommended it. I'm taking CoQ10 and L-Carnitine because I have had heart rhythm problems in the past and they seem to help with that. I have digestive problems that I feel may be yeast related, so I recently started taking acidophilis and have ordered oil of oregano. Again, I'm not taking these to lose weight, but to help with other problems. If they aid in weight loss, that's just an added benefit.

I have lost quite a bit of weight without taking any supplements specifically for weight loss. I do take some vitamins, but I was taking them before I switched to low carbing.

I read a book called the diet pill book, and the book mainly covered single and combination OTC and prescription products. some of the products contained vitamins and herbs. The main point was that the ones that were effective, only resulted in a very modest weight loss(in other words you might lose a few extra pounds as opposed to not taking any supplements) as compared to those who took placebo, and of course they have to be combined with diet and exercise.

Also, many of these products do not have research (double blind studies), to support their claims.

I have purchased many products, and found the only thing I lost was money.
