Hi Liz! From what I have been told you do want to get all of your 20 carbs in. Eat some vegetables, that ought to help. Cheese has carbs too, but also protein! At the beginning I went through a phase where I was not hungry at all or felt like I was eating so much food, but it didn't add up to all that many calories or carbs. People told me to eat the veggies, that ups it!

Best of luck to you! Looks like you are off to a good start!

It depends on what you're eating... how about posting a day's menu so we can see how much and what you're eating before we can say one way or the other?

It's pretty common during induction for your appetite to dwindle to the point you can't eat "normal" amounts of food. Sometimes after a few weeks, the appetite comes back with a vengeance!

Aside from maybe trying other greens than iceburg lettuce <bleh>.. the darker the greens the more nutrients they have...iceburg has next to nothing... I'd say you're fine. I'm not big on trying to force food if you aren't hungry.

Remember too, that eggs have something like .60 grams of carbs too. If you drink coffee or tea and add cream, that would add a bit as well.

All in all, while it's best to get in as close to 20 as possible, and more veggies would take care of that.
